Dorothy Watson Glisson (1912-2001) was a pioneering politician in Florida, known for becoming the first woman to hold a Florida Cabinet position as the 17th Secretary of State from 1974 to 1975. She began her career in the elections office in 1951, becoming head in 1954. Glisson was appointed Secretary of State by Governor Reubin Askew after the resignation of Richard Stone. After completing her term, she had various roles, including working as director of the Division of Elections and as secretary of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, retiring in 1987.
