Dorothy N. Nichols Dolbey (1908-1991) was an American politician and the first female Mayor of Cincinnati, serving for six months in 1954. A graduate in child psychology, Dolbey initially became a stay-at-home mother after her marriage in 1935. She entered politics when she ran for city council in 1951. Dolbey was later appointed vice-mayor and became acting mayor following the death of Edward N. Waldvogel. Notably, she was the first woman in Major League Baseball history to throw out an Opening Day pitch for the Cincinnati Reds.
