Edwin Douglas Rankin was an Australian rules footballer known for playing with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Born on December 21, 1915, he was the son of Teddy Rankin, a former Geelong player. Doug played nine games as a forward for Geelong, but his career was hindered by a serious knee injury he sustained in April 1939. Despite his family's strong connection to the club, including half-brothers who also played over 100 games, his time on the field was unfortunately limited.
