Doug Sandom was a British drummer known for being the original drummer of the rock band The Who. He joined the band during their early days as The Detours around 1962 while working as a bricklayer. Despite his talent, Sandom faced challenges due to his age, being in his thirties while the other members were teenagers, which made him an outsider. He was replaced in April 1964 after failing to impress music producer Chris Parmeinter during an audition with Fontana Records.
