Douglas Taft was an English footballer born on March 9, 1926, who played primarily as a centre forward. He made six appearances in the Football League for Derby County during the 1940s. Although he was associated with Wolverhampton Wanderers, he did not play league football for them. Taft also had a successful non-league career with several clubs, including Gresley Rovers and Hinckley Athletic, where he served as player-manager. He passed away on September 29, 1987.
