Douglas Campbell 'Dougie' Thomson is a Scottish musician born on March 24, 1951, in Glasgow. He is renowned as the former bassist of the progressive rock band Supertramp. His musical career began in August 1969 with 'The Beings,' followed by a stint in The Alan Bown Set. He joined Supertramp in 1973, contributing to their most famous albums until their hiatus in 1988. Thomson disagreed with the band's direction post-1983 and has since become a music representative and promoter, founding Trinity Publishing. He currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
