Douglas William Golding was a South African flying ace during World War II, credited with three aerial 'kills'. He joined the South African Air Force in 1940, initially flying Mohawks with 3 Squadron SAAF and later transitioning to 4 Squadron SAAF, where he flew Tomahawks. After returning to South Africa for anti-submarine patrols, he rose to the rank of flight commander and then Commanding Officer of his squadron. He flew Spitfire Mk Vs and eventually commanded 73 Squadron in Italy before his demobilisation in 1946.
