Douglas H. Chadwick, born February 24, 1948, is an American wildlife biologist, author, and photographer known for his contributions to National Geographic and various other publications. Over his career, he has authored fourteen books and more than 200 articles focusing on wildlife and natural environments. Chadwick has also worked with organizations dedicated to wildlife conservation, including The Vital Ground Foundation and the Gobi Bear Fund. A graduate of the University of Washington and the University of Montana, he has participated in significant wildlife research initiatives, particularly concerning grizzly bears.
