Douglas Mackessack (1903-1987) was a Scottish cricketer, British Army officer, and whiskey distiller. He played first-class cricket for Scotland and served as managing director of Glen Grant distillery, promoting the brand in Italy. During WWII, he was a major and became a POW in France. Mackessack was made an MBE post-war and contributed to Rothes F.C. as president, with their ground named in his honor. He had a notable career in both sports and business, remaining involved in whiskey distilling for fifty years.
