Robert Douglas Spedden was a child survivor of the RMS Titanic sinking in 1912. Born on November 19, 1905, his mother wrote a book titled Polar the Titanic Bear, inspired by his experience of the tragedy. Tragically, Douglas died at the young age of nine, three years after the Titanic disaster, due to an accident involving an automobile.
