Douglas Young (born October 1948), also known as Doug Young, is a former Scottish solicitor and reserve British Army officer. He practiced law from 1973 to 2002 and served with various divisions in the British Territorial Army. Known for his role in numerous military operations including in Bosnia and Kosovo, he also authored 'Silence in the Ranks' addressing armed forces electoral participation. Young was appointed Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Inverness in 2015 and is a recognized expert in military human rights and electoral issues related to servicemen.
