Dov Shafir, born on December 28, 1931, is a former Israeli Navy officer who commanded the elite naval unit Shayetet 13 during the Six-Day War. After his military service, he became a director at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries and was an investor in the capital market. He also serves on the board of Ashkelon Academic College and as a trustee of the University of Haifa. Shafir has contributed to the establishment of the Marine Strategy Studies Center and the restoration of an ancient ship from Ma'agan Michael.
