Dragoslav Marković was a prominent Yugoslav politician born on June 28, 1920, in Popović, Sopot, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. He served as President of the National Assembly from 1969 to 1974 and was a member of the Presidency of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1971 to 1974. Later, he became President of the Presidency of the Socialist Republic of Serbia from 1974 to 1978, and served as President of the Federal Assembly of Yugoslavia from 1978 to 1982. He was also the Chairman of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia from 1983 to 1984.
