Son of former NHL goaltender Ross McKay, he made headlines in 2021 when he achieved 26 career shutouts in NCAA DI men's hockey, tying the all-time record. His outstanding performance culminated in receiving the Hobey Baker Award in 2022, recognizing him as the best player in NCAA men's ice hockey.
