DT. B. Nurdin Yakob was a prominent writer from Solok, West Sumatra. He authored various works, including novels, short stories, children's books, and writings on Minangkabau culture and folklore. Nurdin began his career as a journalist in 1950 and also taught at various high schools in Bukittinggi, eventually serving as the director of SMA Negeri Padangpanjang until his retirement in 1980.
