Duk-In Choi (최덕인) was a South Korean physicist known for his contributions in plasma physics related to nuclear fusion. Born on April 30, 1936, in Incheon, he obtained his bachelor's degree from Seoul National University and pursued his master's and doctoral degrees at the University of Colorado. Choi served as a professor and president at KAIST, as well as the director of the Basic Science Institute. He was also a president of the Korean Physical Society and a lifetime member of the Academy of Science and Technology in Korea. He passed away on March 28, 2022.
