Zwelidumile Geelboi Mgxaji Mslaba 'Dumile' Feni (1942-1991) was a South African contemporary visual artist known for his sketches, paintings, and sculptures. He is regarded as a pioneer of township art in South Africa. His emotionally charged work commented directly on the apartheid policies of the time. Dumile was born in Worcester, Western Cape, and moved to Johannesburg with his family after his mother's death. He gained prominence in 1964 and represented South Africa at the Sao Paulo Biennale in 1967. He lived in self-imposed exile from 1968, residing in cities like London, Los Angeles, and New York.
