Dumitru Diacov is a Moldovan politician born on February 10, 1952. He served as the President of the Moldovan Parliament and has been a member of the Parliament of Moldova for several consecutive terms since 2005, after previously serving from 1994 to 2001. Diacov was the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova from 2000 to 2009, and in 2009, he handed over the party chairmanship to Marian Lupu.
