Dumitru Focșneanu was a Romanian bobsledder born on November 8, 1935, who excelled as a brakeman, particularly with his teammate Ion Panțuru. The duo achieved notable success at the FIBT World Championships, securing a silver medal in 1969 and a bronze medal in 1973 in the two-man event. Focșneanu also competed in both two-man and four-man bobsled events at the 1972 Winter Olympics, where they placed between 10th and 12th. He passed away on June 20, 2019.
