Major Dūrgā Malla (1 July 1913 – 25 August 1944) was a distinguished Gorkha soldier who became the first member of the Indian Gorkhas to sacrifice his life for the Indian National Army (INA) during the struggle for Indian independence. Belonging to the Thakuri ethnic group, which is recognized as one of the valiant communities among the Gorkhas and Nepali people, Malla's courage and dedication made him a notable figure in India's history.
