Dursun Ali Şahin was a distinguished Turkish bureaucrat born in Akçakoca, Düzce. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1975 and served as a district governor in various municipalities. He was the deputy governor of Ankara from 1992 to 1997 and served in disaster management roles following the 1999 earthquake. Appointed as Gölcük's governor in 2010, he was soon assigned to Yalova, then to Giresun in 2011, and later to Edirne in 2014 before concluding his service.
