Dušan Nečak (born January 21, 1948, Ljubljana) is a Slovenian historian specializing in the history of the Carinthian Slovenes and ethnic minority issues. He studied history and art history at the University of Ljubljana and has held various academic positions, becoming a full professor by 1989. Nečak has published extensively, particularly on post-World War II elections and the history of the Slovenes in Austria. He served in humanitarian roles and led search and rescue dog organizations. He is noted for his contributions to both historical scholarship and humanitarian work.
