E. Ahamed was an Indian politician from Kerala, who played a significant role in shaping India's relations with the Middle East. He served as a Member of Parliament from 1991 until his death in 2017. A member of the Indian Union Muslim League, Ahamed held various important positions, including Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Railways, and Human Resource Development. He was the first union minister from the Indian Union Muslim League in independent India and led the party as National President from 2008 to 2017.
