Brigadier General Ethel Ann Hoefly was an American nurse and United States Air Force member known for her service during World War II. She volunteered in the European Theater as part of the Army Nurse Corps. After the war, she transitioned to civilian hospitals but returned to military service in 1949 by enlisting in the newly created Air Force. Specializing in neuropsychiatry, she attained the rank of Brigadier General on July 1, 1972, and served as the chief of the Air Force Nurse Corps.
