E. M. S. Namboodiripad was a prominent Indian politician and a leading figure in the communist movement in India. Born on June 13, 1909, in Elamkulam, Kerala, he served as the Chief Minister of Kerala during two separate terms, from 1957 to 1959 and from 1967 to 1969. He was a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and is recognized as a key Marxist thinker. Namboodiripad passed away on March 19, 1998, in Thiruvananthapuram.
