Edward Palmer Thompson was a British historian, writer, socialist thinker, and peace advocate known for his work on British radical movements in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His most famous work is 'The Making of the English Working Class' (1963). Thompson also authored biographies of notable figures, including William Morris (1955) and William Blake (1993), the latter published posthumously. In addition to historical scholarship, he was prolific in journalism and article writing, authored a novel titled 'The Sykaos Papers,' and published a collection of poetry.
