E. Thurman Gaskill (1935-2023) was an American politician and Iowa State Senator representing the 6th District from 1997 to 2007. A dedicated grain farmer, he held leadership roles in various agricultural organizations and served as a commissioner in Iowa's Department of Economic Development and Department of Natural Resources. He was involved in multiple Senate committees and was re-elected in 2004. Gaskill supported Rudolph Giuliani in the 2008 primaries, was inducted into the Agricultural Hall of Fame, and recognized as an Iowa Master Farmer in 2009.
