E. X. Giroux, pseudonym of Doris Shannon, was a Canadian mystery novelist born in the U.S. She lived from August 7, 1924, to August 13, 2012. Giroux focused on writing mystery novels set in the UK, publishing two series with a total of 20 novels between 1972 and 1993. Before her writing career, she worked as a clerk for the Royal Bank of Canada in various locations from 1942 to 1949.
