Edward Farhat, born on June 9, 1926, and passed away on January 18, 2003, was an American professional wrestler of Lebanese descent known as The Original Sheik. He portrayed a character from the Syrian deserts and dominated wrestling during the 1960s. A pioneer of hardcore wrestling, he was the uncle of ECW wrestling legend Sabu. He was notorious for using a pencil as a weapon, famously striking rival wrestler Tiger Jeet Singh with it, causing him to lose consciousness. Farhat's legacy in wrestling includes his contributions to the hardcore style and his influence on future wrestlers.
