Edward John Gagliardi was an American bass guitarist notable for being the original bassist of the rock band Foreigner, which he joined in 1976. He played a left-handed Fireglo Rickenbacker bass guitar as a tribute to Paul McCartney. Gagliardi contributed to the albums 'Foreigner' and 'Double Vision'. In 1981, he co-founded the band Spys with Al Greenwood, contributing to the 80s synth-rock movement. Gagliardi passed away on May 11, 2014, after an eight-year battle with cancer, with a private ceremony held by family and friends.
