Ed Huisman was a Dutch politician from the CDA who served as alderman of Heerhugowaard from 1978 to 1990. He became mayor of Limmen in late 1990 and later served as mayor of Harenkarspel starting in December 2000. Unfortunately, he was unable to fulfill his duties due to health issues, as he was diagnosed with metastatic liver cancer. Ed Huisman passed away on June 14, 2004, at the age of 60, just as a successor was appointed.
