Ed Lay is a British musician and drummer, born on February 20, 1981, in Ipswich, UK. He began drumming in a brass band and transitioned to drums through a school friend. Lay joined Editors by replacing Geraint Owen early in the band's history. He made his live debut with them in March 2003 when they were still known as Snowfield. The band moved to Birmingham to pursue their music career in 2003, and by 2004, they fully committed to music, leaving their part-time jobs behind.
