Edgar G. Sperber, born on March 23, 1937, is a German jazz and entertainment musician known for playing tenor and alto saxophone, clarinet, flute, and vocals. He grew up in Schweinfurt and started music at an early age, discovering jazz at 17. He formed his first professional band in 1963 and toured extensively in Europe. From 1977, he led the Nürnberger Rundfunk-Tanzorchester for 20 years, participated in many radio productions, and taught music at various institutions, eventually becoming a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg in 2001.
