Eddie Buczynski was an American Wiccan priest, archaeologist, and gay rights activist born in New York on January 28, 1947. He founded two Wiccan traditions: Welsh Traditionalist Witchcraft and The Minoan Brotherhood, aimed at gay and bisexual men. Originally aspiring to be a Roman Catholic priest, Buczynski embraced his sexuality, moved to Greenwich Village, and became part of the local gay community. He later earned degrees in classical archaeology, but in 1988 he was diagnosed with AIDS and passed away in 1989.
