Eddie Kirkup, born Ernest Kirkup on July 12, 1929, is a former British marathon runner noted for his accomplishments in the 1950s. In 1955, he won the marathon from Doncaster to Sheffield and triumphed at the Edinburgh Highland Games, finishing 18th at the Košice Marathon. The following year, he placed eighth in the Polytechnic Marathon and sixth in the English Championships. In 1957, Kirkup emerged victorious at the Polytechnic Marathon, achieving a personal best of 2:22:28 and becoming the English Champion, and came second in Košice. He finished fifth at Polytechnic Marathon and fourth at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1958.
