Eddy van der Roer is a former professional football goalkeeper from Batavia, born on December 29, 1946. He debuted in professional football with SVV, winning the First Division title in 1969 but faced relegation the following year. He then joined Excelsior, where he played for three consecutive seasons in the Eredivisie, facing relegation again in 1973. Van der Roer experienced another championship in the First Division before further relegations ensued. His career ended prematurely due to chronic knee issues. He is the father of former professional footballer Edgar van der Roer.
