Edgar Gevorgyan is an Armenian weightlifter born on May 21, 1982, in Vanadzor, Armenian SSR. He represented Armenia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the men's 85 kg weight class. Gevorgyan showcased impressive skills, successfully lifting 176 kg in the snatch event. However, he was unable to complete the competition, as he failed to lift 196 kg during the clean and jerk portion after three attempts. His compatriot, Tigran Vardan Martirosyan, won a bronze medal in the same event.
