Born on April 24, 1906, in Gut Koberwitz near Breslau, he is known for his work 'Dachauer Tagebücher' (Dachau Diaries), which provides detailed accounts of life in the concentration camp, the SS guards, and the prisoner community. His writings give insight into the experiences of those incarcerated during this dark period of history. He passed away on July 7, 1991, near Stuttgart.
