Edmond Cohanier was a Swiss jazz reedist born on February 28, 1905, in Talloires. He spent most of his early career in Paris during the 1920s, collaborating with notable musicians such as Georges Marion and Louis Armstrong. Cohanier served as a clarinetist and saxophonist at Paris's Paramount theater from 1931 to 1933. After returning to Switzerland around 1937, he transitioned from performing jazz to educating future musicians at the Zurich Conservatory, where he contributed to the development of music education.
