Edmond Nicolau (June 3, 1922 - September 2, 1996) was a Romanian communication systems engineer, cybernetics researcher, and essayist, recognized as a pioneer of computer science in Romania. He made original contributions in electromagnetic field theory, antennas, radio waves, and mathematical linguistics. Nicolau had interdisciplinary interests, including cosmogony, anthropogenesis, epistemology, hermeneutics, and religions. He served as a professor at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and founded the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.
