Eduardo Horacio Bekerman, known as 'El Roña', was born on May 22, 1955, in Bernal, Buenos Aires Province. He was a prominent activist in the Unión de Estudiantes Secundarios (UES) and tragically became the first student from the Colegio Nacional Buenos Aires to be murdered by the Triple A at the young age of 19 on August 22, 1974. His activism and untimely death spotlighted the political violence against students during that period in Argentina.
