Eduardo Melo Peixoto, known as Cónego Melo, was a Portuguese priest born on October 30, 1927, in Braga and passed away on April 19, 2008, at the age of 80 in the Sanctuary of Fatima. He served as the Dean of the Chapter of the Cathedral of Braga and as the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Braga. An anti-communist activist, he faced accusations related to far-right terrorism and was suspected of involvement in the killings of priest Max and Maria de Lurdes in a bombing in 1976, though he was never formally charged.
