Eduardo Gabriel Kimel was an Argentine journalist and writer, born on October 21, 1952, in Buenos Aires. He was sentenced after investigating the massacre of the Palatine priests at the San Patricio church. His case was taken to the Organization of American States (OAS), and it contributed to the abolition of the crime of 'slander and defamation' in cases of public interest. The legislation that decriminalized such offenses is informally known as the 'Kimel Law'. He passed away on February 10, 2010.
