Edward Anseele Jr. (1902-1981) was a Belgian socialist politician and resistance fighter, born in Ghent. He served in various political roles including councilor and mayor of Ghent, and was a parliament member. A participant in the Spanish Civil War, he helped reorganize the Belgian Workers' Party during WWII. Anseele held several ministerial positions related to transport and communications and led the Gent-Eeklo Federation of the Belgian Socialist Party from 1946 to 1976, marking his influence on Belgian politics.
