Edward C. Prescott (1940–2022) was an American economist awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2004, shared with Finn Kydland for their contributions to the research on 'dynamic stochastic general equilibrium theory' during their tenure at Carnegie Mellon University.
