Sir Edward Crewe, born on January 13, 1946, served as the Chief Constable of Northamptonshire Police from 1993 to 1996, and West Midlands Police from 1996 to 2002. He began his career in the Metropolitan Police as a Cadet in 1965, rising to chief superintendent. He attended the Royal College of Defence Studies and was knighted in 2001. Crewe received the Queen's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 1990 and an honorary doctorate of laws. In 2011-2012, he advised on police remuneration reviews.
