Edward Wilhelm Drescher was a Polish pediatric surgeon, born on October 23, 1912, in Biłgoraj and died on July 16, 1977, in Warsaw. He was instrumental in establishing pediatric surgery centers in the regions of West Pomerania and Lubusz which were annexed to Poland. Drescher played a key role in training the necessary specialized staff for these centers. Additionally, he was a bioethicist, deontologist, and a professor at the Pomeranian Medical Academy in Szczecin. He participated in the Warsaw Uprising and was a veteran of Poland's struggle for independence.
