Edward G. Jones, known as Ted, was an American neuroscientist and expert in neuroanatomy, born on March 26, 1939, in Oberhulth, New Zealand, and passed away on June 6, 2011, in Davis, California. He served as the former president of the Society for Neuroscience and is well-known for his contributions to the Matrix-Core theory of thalamic organization. In 1985, he authored a highly regarded work titled 'The Thalamus.' Jones eventually settled in California, where he directed the Center for Neuroscience at the University of California, Davis.
