Edward Leroy Crain was an American country blues musician, known as "The Texas Cowboy" or "Cowboy Ed Crain". He played guitar, fiddle, and mandolin, and recorded music in the 1930s, with his notable song being "Bandit Cole Younger". Crain was a ranch hand in Texas before becoming a performer, encouraged by Jimmie Rodgers. His music reflected cowboy themes, and he managed a cleaning business while promoting it through radio performances. Unfortunately, his asthma worsened into emphysema, leading to his retirement. Crain returned briefly in 1970 before passing away in 1975.
