Sir Edward Davies Pickering (1912–2003) was a British newspaper editor known for his work with major publications such as the Daily Mail and Daily Express. He began his career as an apprentice at the Northern Echo before rising to positions of authority in London. During World War II, Pickering served in the Royal Artillery and later held significant editorial roles, including mentoring Rupert Murdoch. Despite increasing sales at the Daily Express, he was dismissed due to his laid-back style. He was knighted in 1977 and continued in prominent roles until his retirement.
